Annette Trondsen - ASSIGNMENT #2: WILL IT BE ADOPTED?

SHOE UMBRELLA

RELATIVE ADVANTAGE:
This thing might be perceived as an improvement for the umbrella. But not as effective due to it only keeps your feet dry.

The shoe umbrella might be expensive, and could be a kind of fashion. Maybe people would buy this due to status.

 COMPATIBILITY:
Maybe it will fit into high fashion culture where style and comfort matters.

ADAPTABILITY (RE-INVENTABILITY)

I think this could be re-invented if you make an umbrella that covers the whole foot under and over. An invention that guarantees a dry foot no Mather how wet it gets.

 OBSERVABILITY:
The results of use would be very visible in a short amount of time. Thus it might be more likely to be adopted quickly where you will see the results immediately.

I don’t think this invention will be adopted. This due to effects on keeping the foot dry. If it rains you will be wet from above or below. You could probably make a new more solid umbrella, or a thing that kept the whole foot dry. This may increase the adoption. The invention might survive due to high observability or due to cultures where fashion matters. But personally I don’t think this invention will be adopted.
